HistoryBob Sly began working in production in 1981. As an aspiring broadcaster looking for opportunities to get on camera, he started working behind the lens in order to get in front of it. Then he started editing... and shooting more... and working as a production assistant, grip, teleprompter operator, floor director, sound technician... then production manager, producer, writer, content creator, director. With over 30 years as a professional, Bob knows how to balance budget with quality and efficiency - and he's a teacher (City and Grossmont Colleges) so he can educate his clients to feel comfortable with the process. A cornucopia of content including Television Series, Commercials/Social Media, Corporate Video, Documentary, Short Film, Education/Instruction and Family Videos have shaped Bob's expansive perspective on storytelling.

What I Do
Bigsly Media specializes in helping businesses connect to customers through social media videos. Sharing moments, tagging friends and hashtagging for visibility are easily done in an instant; they're spur-of-the-moment posts that anyone can create with their cell phone - and you should. But your business profile, culture video featurettes, outreach (like tradeshows), training, product demos, etc. should be professionally crafted. That's where I come in. Brief, on-point and impactful - with a dash of your personality... you need your core communications to have a long shelf life and a solid message. I work with you extensively on the front end, so production and editing are more efficient - and more cost-effective.

In 1989, I was training to shoot and edit football (for college highlight films), so I covered games from my high school alma mater, Mission Bay, and they ended up having one of the best seasons in the school's history. Here's the highlight video that resulted - dedicated to the memory of head coach Dennis Pugh:
