The Bigsly story begins in the early 80’s…
As an aspiring broadcaster, Bob Sly became close friends with his college mates – the people behind the scenes who had the REAL jobs. His nickname, “The Big Guy,” derived from an old TV show, soon became Big Sly and finally Bigsly (BIGS-lee). The work they did – and the simple creation of a pseudonym – was a team effort; and this is where the collaborative spirit of Bigsly Enterprises was born.
A documentary was created by this “Tag Team” of budding professionals fresh off the campus of San Diego State University. Bigsly spent six months as a broadcaster in Massachusetts, and many brilliant careers were launched as the 80’s came to a close – including a new professional path for Mr. Sly.
Taking on any job his friends would throw his way, Bigsly worked his way through the production world, gaining valuable insight at every turn. An on-line editor for 12 years and then production manager, producer, director, writer and supervising producer, he has experienced the myriad styles and approaches to delivering a message to a target audience.
